The linking is an attempt to do the following:- Maximize the importance and emphasis on each page of the key words we are optimizing around. By adding a special tag (i.e. bold, italic, bullet) and especially a hyperlink tag to these phrases, we demonstrate to Google that these are of high significance to our pages.
- By pointing more internal links to target-rich pages whose main Title includes the search phrase itself, and hopefully its keywords and other supporting content does as well, we not only make those hyperlinks a value within the various pages, but we also promote to Google the significance of the pages on the receiving end of those links.
- The purpose in accomplishing this with a program is to instantly populate the site with consistent hyperlinks (eliminate user error) and to allow for changing priorities over time (if the keywords and links are changed in the program they change throughout).
Bill D pointed out one shortcoming in the program method in his last email to you, that when there is an overlap in words the script must try to accommodate these things. The script works best when the keywords assigned to it do not overlap.
